La Capella 2010 is the fourth vintage of this cava, which has hit the market. Delicate and elegant, it is also the second vintage to go on the marker with Cava de Paraje Calificado certification, the top level in the ranking charts for the cava sector.
Our flagship is 100% hand-picked Xarel·lo, with the first selection of the best grapes on the vine. It is amazing and versatile in gastronomic terms: it can be paired with seafood and with traditional fish dishes as well as with top poultry recipes or meat stews.
La Capella 2010 is huge leap in terms of sophistication and finesse: its colour is not very developed despite its very long vintage period, almost 90 months of second fermentation in contact with the yeast in the bottle in the dark of the cellars in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia. It is also fruitier that previous vintages. La Capella is a cava that can excellently stand the test of time, the product of a winery that has been committed to long vintages and prestigious cavas since it was founded.
La Capella 2010, which is a limited production of only 4,000 bottles, bears the name of the vineyard in Espiells, Sant Sadurní d’Anoia that saw it come about. This is a unique spot of 7 acres where Xarel·lo vines have been planted for over 35 years, of which only 0.7 acres are goblet trained and used to create La Capella. What makes this vineyard stand out is the soil made up of sediments (silt and clay) and relatively deep and well drained sandy soil, an average texture with very few bulky elements (5-15%).
