Milesimé Chardonnay is the result of selecting the best Can Rius grapes, complete and ripe berries, expressive and lively, with sufficient structure to make the wine grow during aging in the bottle and gain complexity and nuances during its calm rest in our cellars, which lasts up to 48 months.

Can Rius
The grapes behind our Milesimé Chardonnay come from our Can Rius Estate, a 16-hectare vineyard located at an altitude of 160–178 meters above sea level, facing south and basking in sunlight almost all day long. Planted in the late 20th century in Gelida, on the eastern edge of the Alt Penedès, it is sheltered from wind and heat thanks to its privileged surroundings: views of Montserrat and a unique landscape filled with cypress trees. The loam-silt soils, with fine texture and medium depth, yield exceptional grapes, ideal for extended aging. Average vine age: 20 years.

Tasting notes
Clean, bright golden hue with fine and persistent bubbles. Defined aromatic profile, with ripe fruit notes such as pineapple and peach. Hints of pastry, butter, brioche, and toasted bread appear as well—clear reflections of a well-developed and pronounced autolysis. Broad and voluminous on the attack. The mousse is creamy and wellintegrated, adding texture. Long finish on the palate, with balanced acidity that sustains and extends the wine’s expression.
Pairing
White veal with bourbon sauce, smoked table, calçots with Alcover hazelnut romesco sauce and a touch of fennel, free-range chicken burritos with chipotle sauce.
